Donaldus. True, I am home now, but I have barely begun to describe the many adventures of our journey. So watch for a series of postcards, including a book by book reading of Homer’s Iliad, using (primarily) my Rhodes classmate Caroline Alexander’s new translation.
The main thing I need at the moment is a clean shave with a new razor, clean clothes, and some time to sort photos and play with the map.
If a journey like this doesn’t revolutionize your life, you may as well stay home and watch the scores of superb documentaries on all the same subjects: Delphi, oracles, Mycenae, Homer, Athens, the Acropolis, the Elgin Marbles controversy, etc.
More to come.
